
Fallen Coin (Latin name: Habenaria aitchisonii Rchb. f.) , also known as Yeluo Coin, etc., is a perennial herb of the orchid Habenaria. The plant is 12-33 centimeters tall. The tuber is fleshy, oblong or elliptical, 1-2.5 cm long, and 0.8-1.5 cm in diameter. The stem is erect, cylindrical, pubescent with papillae like hairs, with 2 nearly opposite leaves at the base, without or with 1-5 sheath like bracts above the leaves. The leaves of this plant are basal, overlapping and tightly inlaid in a round shape, resembling copper coins, hence the names’ Landing Money ‘and’ Night Falling Money ‘. This plant prefers to cluster on the wet walls of mountain slopes and by the edges of ditches.
