
Malvaceae is a plant of the genus Malvaceae, native to Spain and North Africa. It likes warmth and sunshine, and does not choose soil, but sandy loam is suitable. Plant height about 70cm, much branched. Alternate leaves, serrated, flowers solitary in leaf axils, 5 petals, red, reddish purple at the base, flowering period from May to June. Propagation by sowing, sowing in early September, flowering in May of the following year; spring sowing, flowering period is later. Topping during the growth period can promote branching and luxuriant flowering. It can be used as flower beds, flower borders or potted plants.
