Rhoeo spathaceo cv “Compacta” is a perennial herbaceous plant. It belongs to the Commelina family and is produced in tropical Central America. It is suitable for garden landscaping or potted plants.

Rhoeo spathaceo cv “Compacta” leaves are small and densely grown, with light purple-red undersides and dense leaf clusters. The leaves are clustered on short stems, sword-shaped, stiff and crisp, with green leaves and purple backs. The inflorescences are axillary at the base of the leaves. The spathes are clam shell-shaped, lavender, and have three petals.
The adult plant is smaller, mainly used for foliage viewing, and is a foliage plant. The leaves are light green in the shade and the undersides are light purple-red. Under strong light, the leaves gradually turn to dark red and the undersides are purplish-red.
