Lamprocapnos spectabilis (L.) Fukuhara is a perennial herbaceous plant of the genus Lamprocapnos spectabilis (L.) Fukuhara, with a plant height of 30-60 cm and a fleshy rhizome; the stem is erect and cylindrical; the leaves are divided into two and three, Shaped like peony leaves; raceme terminal, heart-shaped base, purple-red to pink petals, thin white, flowers hanging to one side, shaped like a purse;

flowering period from April to June. Because the leaves are similar to peonies, and the flowers are heart-shaped, hanging on the flower branches like ancient Chinese purses, so it is named “purse peony”.
Purse peony likes warm and humid semi-shady environment, afraid of hot sun exposure, cold-resistant, suitable for growing in moist and well-drained fertile sandy soil. Generally, the methods of branching, cutting and sowing are used for propagation.
