Flame wood

Flame wood, also known as flame tree, bud calyx. It is an evergreen tree belonging to Bignoniaceae, native to tropical Africa, and is now widely cultivated in Southeast Asia, Hawaii and other places. It is more cultivated in Taiwan, and a small amount is introduced in South China. Suitable as garden tree or street tree.

Flame tree has flame-like flower color and long flowering period. It is often used as shade tree or street tree in warm areas, and it is also suitable for planting in public places. Cultivated in greenhouses in cold regions, young for viewing. The branches of this species are elegant, the canopy is broad, and it is evergreen in all seasons. If it is properly cultivated and the climate is suitable, it can bloom all year round. It is a precious tropical woody flower and an excellent landscape ornamental tree species. The seeds are edible.
