Rosa xanthina Lindl

Rosa xanthina Lindl. is an erect shrub of the genus Rosa in the family Rosaceae. 2-3 meters high; the branches are thick and dense; the leaflets are broadly ovate or nearly round, with rounded blunt serrations on the edges, and glabrous on the top; the rachis and petioles have sparse pilose and small prickles; the flowers are solitary in the leaf axils , double or semi-double, yellow; pedicel 1-1.5 cm long, glabrous, non-glandular; fruit nearly spherical or obovate, purple-brown or dark brown; flowering period 4-6 months; fruiting period 7- August.


The yellow thorn rose likes light, is slightly shade tolerant, has strong cold resistance, and is not resistant to waterlogging. It has no strict requirements on the soil, is resistant to drought and barrenness, and can grow in saline-alkali soil, preferably loose and fertile land. Strong root system, strong germination, less pests and diseases. It often grows on sunny hillsides or bushes. The propagation of the yellow thorn rose is mainly by division method, and it can also be propagated by cutting and layering.
